To Ski Your Best Learn To Hover
The Best way to ski on a Snow Biste simulator is Hovering
The Best way to ski on a Snow Biste simulator is Hovering; skiing on the simulator without the use of the hand-bar. This requires you to be able to proficiently utilize the skills you are taught during your training sessions, into effective functional movement patterns that optimize your ski turns. Hovering is not easy, but the Biste Methodology is designed to bring you to that level. Hovering on the simulator, strengthens your ski specific muscles 3X faster than skiing with the Hand-bar. Hovering is the level every racer and athlete with high aspirations should strive for and is the goal if you really want to get better! If you want to ski ANY terrain efficiently and effectively, then you need to learn to Hover. However, if you just want to learn how to ski, get more confidence or a basic ski skill tune-up for safety, then successfully achieving the ability to hover is not necessary.
First Training Session
During your first training session, The Foundational, you’ll be asked what your goals are. If your goal is simply to learn the basics, expect 8 half hour Developmental Sessions. If your goal is to be the best in your group or to be a competitive ski athlete, then expect the journey to take longer. Hovering is not easy as you must develop the understanding, skills and fitness to do it correctly. For the best 12–15-year-old athletes, that takes 8 to 12 sessions. For a physically fit Masters skier able to ski most any terrain, that can take an even longer 12-50 Developmental Sessions. That’s because experienced skiers that aren’t racing World Cup have a lot of bad habits that need to be broken down and rebuilt in the right manner. Everyone is different in how they learn. The Biste Methodology takes that into account by creating the Functional Movement Patterns through skill building drills that build upon one another.
Monthly Ski Training
Monthly ski training packages are available to help you achieve your goals with 2X or 3X per week training sessions. If you don’t have structure in your schedule, there are 8 and 12 pack Developmental sessions that aren’t confined to a monthly 30-day period. Be prepared to schedule your weekly days in advance at your Foundational sessions as the schedule fills up quickly during the months of September through the end of March.
